Happy Memorial Day! Aren't we blessed to live in the USA where freedom is something that we cherish every day?
Today I remember my two grandfathers who fought for our country. One who sacrificed his life in WWII and the other who served and went on to continue service as a pastor until his death. I am proud to be a part of their family and to honor their memory on this day!
Holidays often make me long for friends that I miss from my journey so far! Today's post honors all the many friends whom I have been blessed to know and spend time with! You each hold a very special place in my heart and I think of you often! Thank goodness for Facebook and the power of reconnecting with friends near and far!
This card was made by using the Avacado Arts stamps from two different sets -- Spring Medley and Perfectly Planted. You can find these stamps at this website: http://www.avocadoarts.com/Shop.html
I used the reverse side of the stamps -- twice the bang for your buck -- to stamp the solid yellow flowers. Then turned the stamp back over to the right side and stamped with orange right on top of the yellow. A smaller flower was stamped randomly around the yellow flowers. Next the green leaves were stamped. You can't really tell in the picture, but there are two yellow flowers that are set atop pop dots above and below the sentiment. The lighter green leaves are also popped up with the flowers. I stamped the sentiment on white paper and matted it in orange and trimmed the orange by hand.
I used my silhouette to cut the two flowers, leaves, and sentiment from white paper using the digital die cut from Avacado Arts. I love the digital dies because they really help to give your cards and scrapbook pages dimension!
