You Are Beautiful!

Wow! I didn't realize it has been since late October since I posted on the blog!  I've been creating but haven't taken time to take pictures and upload!  Today is the day!

I went to a Mixed Media class at Scraptopia in Ada, OK today and learned some new techniques that I could use in scrapbooking/card making!  The card I created is all inking.  It may not look like it but I'll show you how to create this design!

Here's the supply list:
  • Bright yellow card stock for card base -- cut 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches.  Score and fold in half to make 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inch card (A2 size)
  • White card stock for creating design on -- cut 3 1/2 X 4 3/4 inches.
  • Flower stencil made from The Stamps of Life die cut set -- Crazy4Daisies.
  • Ink daubers
  • Pink, yellow, orange, bright blue and lime green stamp pads
  • The Stamps of Life stamp set -- Crazy4Daisies
  • Lime green mesh ribbon
First, I used the two sizes of  flower dies to create a stencil out of card stock scraps.

Next, create my flowers on the white card stock using the stencils and ink daubers.  Details were added for flower centers by using the stamps from the stamp set.

I added the sentiment, "You Are Beautiful" and used one of the flower petal stamps to create the polka dot leaves.

Next, I used a diamond design stamp from another stamp set to fill in the white spaces.  I didn't use a stamp block, but rolled the stamp in ink and rolled it on the card.  It doesn't have to be precise.  This is a technique I learned today!

Place the completed white card in the center of your yellow card front.  Tie the ribbon around and you are done!
