Eight Picture Layout!

Sometimes it is difficult to sqeeze a bunch of pictures onto a page.  Many of the design sketches in magazines are for only a couple of pictures.  When I came up with this design, I was so happy that I have done 3 layouts already using it!

Here's the steps for you, both written and pictures, so you can scraplift it yourself!

  • Use a solid 12 X 12 inch cardstock for your base.
  • Cut a coordinating double sided cardstock to a 10 1/2 X 10 1/2 inch square.
  • Turn the double sided square at a diagonal and secure in place with the corners hanging off the sides.  Use a mat with a grid to line up your paper so that it is centered.  Each corner will extend beyond the base paper about 1 1/2 inches.  (#1)
#1 -- layer square ove 12 X 12 inch paper at an angle
  • Fold the corners up so that the edges match the base paper.  (#2)
  • I didn't like the back side of the double sided paper so I found a scrap of yellow and white checked paper to use to cover the triangle corners.  Cut two squares 2 X 2 inches.  Cut in half on the diagonal and glue to the triangle flap.
  • In picture 3, you can see that I also added triangles of the yellow and white check paper to the corners of the base paper.  Cut 2 squares 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 inches.  Cut in half on the diagonal and glue in each corner.
#2 - fold up corners
  • Choose four pictures that can be cropped to 3 X 3 inches.  Choose 4 pictures that can be cropped to 4 X 4 inches.
  • Arrange with the larger pictures so that the images are under the corner flaps, centered.
  • The smaller pictures will go in the corners and can be lined up with the diagonals of the picture and the paper matching or you can scoot the picture out and overlay the corner triangle as in this design.  (#3)

#3 -- placing pictures

  • Cut a 4 X 4 inch square of the coordinating paper that was used for the triangle pieces and place at a diagonal in the center of the page.  Place journaling in this area or other embellishments.  I used the tickets from our zipline experience in Branson!  (#4)
  • Using a hole puncher or a Crop-A-Dial, punch a hole in the cener of each triangle flap.  You can punch through all layers or just the single layer of the flap.  Use a brad to secure triangle flap in place.

#4 -- TheFinished Product!

Below is another layout that has journaling in the center and the corner pictures placed differently.  Hope you enjoyed this layout that showcases 8 pictures!  If you scraplift this design, e-mail me a photo and I'll post for you!  cnewberry30@gmail.com
