Masculine Birthday with Paper Scraps

What do you do wth all of those 2 inch and smaller scraps of paper?  You use them to create simple cards!  Another scrappin' buddy, Sheryl Musick, created this masculine birthday card!  I don't know if she used scraps or strategically chose her beautiful papers, but the card sparked this idea in me to try and use up some of my scraps!

My take of Sheryl's card is also shown below!
  •  I found a partial piece of paper with all different versions of the word "mother" that I used for a scrapbook page.  I cut out some of the words and mounted them on a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 inch white cardstock wrapped with hot pink shear ribbon.  I chose to separate the strips of paper so that the words were easier to read.  Sheryl's design above actually overlaps the strips!
  • The square was then glued to a hot pink 6 X 6 inch card.
  • I typed the sentiment, "Happy Mother's Day!" on the computer and cut out with a circle cutter.
  • A 1/4 inch larger circle was cut from hot pink paper and pop dots were used to put the circle on the card.
  • The inside is blank.  This project took me about 15 minutes to complete!
